Offered here is a used Browning X-Bolt Mountain Pro bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .28 Nosler. This is the premium Burnt Bronze configuration with a 26-inch spiral-fluted stainless-steel barrel, genuine carbon-fiber stock, and Browning Recoil Hawg muzzle brake.

The rifle is positively identified by UPC 023614849575 as Browning item number 035538288. This is the standard lightweight Mountain Pro in Burnt Bronze Cerakote, not the Mountain Pro Tungsten or heavier Mountain Pro Long Range configuration.

Browning developed the Mountain Pro as a semi-custom-grade member of the original X-Bolt family. Its lightweight construction, corrosion-resistant metal treatment and magnum chambering make it particularly well suited to mountain, elk, and long-range big-game hunting.

Browning’s Burnt Bronze Cerakote finish protects the stainless-steel barreled action. The lightweight sporter-contour barrel measures 26 inches, has a 1:9-inch twist rate and features extensive spiral fluting to reduce weight while retaining the barrel length and velocity potential appropriate for the .28 Nosler cartridge.

Browning used a proprietary barrel-lapping process to improve the bore finish, facilitate cleaning, and promote consistent accuracy. The barrel is free-floated, while the action is bedded at both the front and rear to help maintain consistent action-to-stock positioning.

The threaded muzzle is fitted with Browning’s factory Sporter Recoil Hawg muzzle brake. This is an especially valuable feature on a lightweight rifle chambered for the powerful .28 Nosler cartridge. Browning advertised the brake as substantially reducing felt recoil, with the amount of reduction varying by caliber and ammunition.

The rifle has a true carbon-fiber stock with distinctive accent graphics and a matte protective finish. Browning filled the stock with noise-dampening foam to reduce the hollow sound sometimes associated with lightweight composite stocks. Textured gripping surfaces and an Inflex recoil pad provide improved control and comfort.

Its X-Bolt action incorporates a short 60-degree bolt lift, spiral-fluted bolt and bolt knob, top-tang safety, and separate bolt-unlock button. The unlock button permits the bolt to be cycled while the safety remains engaged.

The three-lever Feather Trigger is designed to provide a crisp release with minimal take-up, creep or overtravel. Factory adjustment is approximately three to five pounds.

Feeding is through one detachable three-round Browning rotary magazine. Maximum capacity is three rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber.

This rifle also has a pair of scope rings mounted to the receiver. The rings are included exactly as pictured, but their manufacturer and internal diameter have not been independently verified. No riflescope is included.

This example was taken in on consignment from a local owner who reportedly purchased it new. It appears to be in excellent used condition. The Burnt Bronze Cerakote, carbon-fiber stock and controls remain clean, with only minor evidence of normal handling apparent in the photographs. No significant cracks, corrosion or major finish damage are visible.

Please examine the photographs closely because they show the actual firearm being offered and form an important part of the condition description. Bore condition, round count, and internal mechanical wear have not been independently documented. We have not test-fired the rifle unless separately stated.

What is MAP Pricing?

MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price. It's a policy set by manufacturers that limits how low retailers can advertise their prices.

The good news? We can often sell below MAP - we just can't show that price publicly. When you request a price by email or add to cart, you'll see our actual (often lower) price.

This isn't a trick - it's how we stay compliant while still offering you the best deals possible.
