Ruger | GP100 (1702) | MPN: 1702 | UPC: 736676017027 | Blue Finish | .357 Magnum / .38 Special | Double/Single Action | 4.2" Barrel | 6-Round Capacity | 9.5" Overall Length | 41 oz
Offered here is a pre-owned Ruger GP100 double-action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum. This is the blued, six-shot Model 1702 configuration, featuring a 4.20-inch heavy barrel, full-length underlug, adjustable rear sight and black Hogue Monogrip.
The GP100 is one of Ruger’s best-known medium-frame revolver designs. Its solid alloy-steel frame and substantial barrel profile provide the strength and weight needed to manage full-power .357 Magnum ammunition, while the revolver can also fire the softer-recoiling .38 Special cartridge.
The GP100 uses Ruger’s triple-locking cylinder design, which secures the cylinder at the front, rear, and bottom for dependable alignment. Its transfer-bar safety mechanism helps prevent the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is deliberately pulled.
This revolver can be fired in double-action mode by pulling the trigger through its complete stroke or in single-action mode by manually cocking the exposed hammer before firing. The adjustable rear sight allows the point of impact to be regulated for a particular load, while the ramp-style front sight provides a clean, traditional sight picture.
The installed black Hogue Monogrip has molded finger grooves and a textured gripping surface. Its one-piece rubber construction helps provide a secure hold while cushioning the shooter’s hand during recoil.
The revolver appears to be in very good used condition. The blued finish remains clean and even overall, with minor handling marks and a light cylinder turn line consistent with normal use. The grip appears clean and intact.
No major rust, pitting, cracks or significant finish loss are apparent in the photographs. Some ordinary firing residue, lubricant or light surface discoloration is visible around the crane and ejector area in the open-cylinder photograph. A routine cleaning before display or delivery would improve its presentation.
The photographs show the actual firearm being offered and should be considered an important part of the condition description. Bore condition, chamber condition, timing, cylinder lockup and internal mechanical wear have not been independently documented unless otherwise stated.
Manufacture-Date Note:
Serial number 198-03205 is from modern GP100 production. Ruger’s publicly available historical chart does not provide enough information to assign this particular serial number a dependable calendar year. Do not advertise a specific manufacture date without confirming it through Ruger’s customer-service department.
Ruger can generally provide the firearm’s approximate production or shipping information from the complete serial number.
Condition Statement:
Very good pre-owned condition. The blued finish retains a clean and even appearance, with minor handling wear and a light cylinder turn line. The Hogue rubber grip remains clean and intact, and both sights appear complete.
Some normal residue or lubricant is visible around the crane and ejector assembly. No major rust, deep scratches, pitting, cracks or other significant damage are apparent in the supplied photographs.
The firearm has not been test-fired by us unless specifically stated. Bore condition, headspace, timing and internal mechanical condition have not been independently graded. Please examine all photographs closely before purchasing.

What is MAP Pricing?
MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price. It's a policy set by manufacturers that limits how low retailers can advertise their prices.
The good news? We can often sell below MAP - we just can't show that price publicly. When you request a price by email or add to cart, you'll see our actual (often lower) price.
This isn't a trick - it's how we stay compliant while still offering you the best deals possible.
